Peter's Adoption Day!

June 11, 2009 was a very exciting day for us! Peter's Adoption Day was off to a great start, we were dressed up and on our way to the court house when our truck broke down! Ahhh We rarely drive our big truck, but since we had sold my car just the night before so we could then buy a bigger family vehicle, we were driving the "monster truck" as I like to call it. Have we ever had a car brake down on us before? And what a day... what a day... We couldn't reach any family on their cell phones.... We ended up calling our social worker and frantically asking her if there was any way she could pick this stranded bunch off the freeway so we could make our court date on time! She, of course came as quickly as she could in a H & W minivan and we walked up to the first Caldwell exit, with car seat, diaper bag and Peter in hand, me in high heels, I might add, loaded our things into the van as our social worker, Natalie, raced to the court house! What a sight we must have been!
The judge declaired everything final, and Peter to be officially, leagally in every way Peter Henry Kasprzak. Our son! YEAH!!
We had a big party at our home that evening and had approximately 100 people come to help us celebrate! Thank you to all of you who have prayed for this day and who celebrated with us in person and in spirit. What a great God we serve!
